Diplomats get maroon passports
It is considered a high class passport in India. It is issued to Indian diplomats and senior level officials of the government. Senior officers which include officers of ranks like IAS, IRS and IPS ranks.
Apart from this, this passport is also issued to all the officers holding the post of Cabinet Secretary. The specialty of this passport is that it provides many facilities. So in immigration also, people with maroon passports are given preference.
